“Self Leadership” the words itself are self explanatory, instead of leading others first start leading your body, mind and soul. It says to lead yourself to destroy all the constraint within yourself, overcome every bit of fear that you have within yourself, overcome every unethical desire of your body, mind and soul. It says first you start seeing the rays of hope and then provide guidance and courage to others to make their life meaningful and to lead them.

“Biggest leader is the biggest follower, because he follows a cause”. The key difference between an ordinary individual and a leader is that a leader always has a purpose to follow. A leader should have a goal to achieve within a specified time. All his knowledge, plans and actions are oriented towards the final goal that he wants to achieve. Though it becomes sometime confusing to identify the purpose, but there few queries which can ignite the thought process to realise the cause of one’s life. The answers to the following question will lead one to identify the purpose of their own life:
1.    Who are the people in your life matters to you?
2.    What are their needs that you are moved to serve?
3.    How can I leverage my values and gifts to serve these needs?
4.    What is the difference that I am making in everyday life?

It’s not that merely answering the above questions will solve the problem to identify the purpose. Each question requires a deep introspection and a calm mind to understand the meaning of each of these queries and then come up with the answers. One of the best ways that has been suggested and I do believe and follow is “solitude”. A silence, a solace of few minutes every day can provide the answers that one is searching for a long time. Our mind and soul are the ultimate teachers, they are the guiding force within us and they always provide right directions and right answers to all the disturbing factors of your life. In silence they get combined and become unbiased of our desires and needs and they will analyse our potential and strength and provide us the solutions to the queries.

One of the important aspects of being a leader is to overcome the fear. The courage to destroy the feeling of failure and going through the consequences of a decision. During the discussion of leadership Anir sir told us about the walking on fire process. He has gone through the process.  Just by listening to the story, the entire class was moved and so was I. The process is nothing but to walk on the fire following a workshop and how you cope up with pain. It teaches you to burn out the fear in yourself and prepares you to deal with the consequences of a decision. Moreover, the opposite of fear is unconditional love. When you have the unconditional love for anything that you do, you will succeed in that, no matter how tough or risky the work.

Finally the session about immunity to change made us realise that even though most of us know certain habits in us that need to be changed, it’s very hard to overcome them. The Immunity X-Ray exercise that conducted in the class helped me in greater extent to analyse and realise certain habits of mine. The Immunity X-Ray framework asks few questions and makes you to introspect in a very minute level and come up with the answers to get over these habits that you want get rid of.

Overall the entire leadership session was very fruitful and eye opener. I felt very fortunate to be exposed to these self discovering tools at this stage of life. In my point of view sooner you get in touch with a leader like Anir Sir and start rediscovering the mysteries inside you, better you will become an inspired leader in your way with your own strength and potential.

“When you are inspired by greater purpose, strange things begins to happen to you and you start realising the talent that you thought never existed in you.”
