Anupam Tomar_BLP031_Self Leadership_Sep'11

The leadership class started off with a talk about the pillars of S.O.I.L ( ethics, diversity, mindfulness, compassion, diversity)  what they stand for.  After this our 6 inner layers  - diversity, compassion, ethics, reaction, sustainablity, mindfulness were talked about and how they play a part in improving our lives. After this we were introduced to the power of touching by an activity of meeting people with its objective being to only communicate by touching our batch mates.
Then, we moved onto the next activity in which we were asked to voluntarily offer our regrets or any negative feeling to the fire. Everybody in my group undertook this exercise after Anil sir showed all of us how to do the same by offering some of his personal life incidents to the fire. After this the next exercise we did was to appreciate our group members in pairs of two. We did the same and got a better understanding of our batch mate's strengths  and also how to tackle difficulties in different scenarios.
Towards the end of the session we were asked to identify the most important person in our lives and the best way to thank them with the aim being to find the purpose of our lives, how we do things for someone we care the most rather than the other way round.
In the next leadership session conducted on sep 8, the word 'habit's meaning was explained. We were asked to remove letter 'h' from the word above. Then as only abit was left, we were asked to remove 'a'  followed by 'b'. Finally 'it' was left. anil sir explained that it is not easy to remove anything from life and supported this with the example of smoking which is very difficult to leave for a smoker but the determination to let go of it can make it possible for the person to do so. Hence sir explained that it is very important to try continuously and one's thinking and mindset play an important role in taking these kind of decisions
Apart from this questions were asked to everybody and we were also asked to find out answers to these questions. The questions were  what is the purpose of your life, how to develop leadership qualities to become a leader and how to improve your place to make it better. We were asked about those  people in our lives who's importance matters a lot to us  & also about all the negative energy which we want to let go of. We were told an important lesson to achieve our goals. If we are clear with our goals and even though if it takes time to achieve those, it won't be impossible to do it.
Towards the end of the session we had an Immunity X ray session where we told how to develop ourselves. This technique tells how the desired results are achieved after we decide to change. At times when the desired results are not achieved it shows what should be done to achieve the same. Sir told us that the expectation of results is due to the assumptions in our mind.
