Its was one of the biggest day of my life and I would like to call it "Consulting Day". The day started with Mercer-World's largest HR consulting firm and continued to another one of the best management consulting firm McKinsey. In between we had consulting skills by Mr Anil Sachdev.
In Mercer interview we were given 3 questions which were to be answered in 3 minutes. Everyone had the answer but still everyone was nervous because it needed to be presented in a very structured way to get shortlisted. It followed by consulting skills session by Anil Sir and we learnt how to write a proposal. We learnt when we are looking at a problem whats are its effects and what are the effects of the effects. Once we have reached upot the last level, we start looking at the solution and then we need to see how it will benefit our client. Each effect of the current situation is then challenged then and looked at the various aspects. After this we had our assessment session for McKinsey where we were given a live case study and we were asked to analyze it. We had to work as the client as well as the approached firm. This gave us the insights about the mistakes we can make and how to deal with different situations which can arise.
After this assessment session we had a group interview. We were judged on various parameters and came to know many mistakes which we were making for couple of months. This full day was full of learning and was not like any other day since it was The Consulting Day.
