The day started with lots of anxiety because of interview two big consulting firms namely, Mercer and Mckinsey. To add further experience of consulting, there was classes on consulting skills by Anil sir. The day began with Mercer interview where 3 important questions of everyone's life were asked. These questions actually give a lot of insight into any person's life and his/her way of thinking. After the short 3 minute interview was over, I was excited to go for the group assignment. It was a very nice experience working in a group of BLP and HRLP students where we were supposed to give a presentation on survival strategy in a situation.
It was decided in our group to give chance to everyone for presentation as it was important to highlight the performance of everyone in front of panel of Mercer. Though it was disappointing to see only HR students moving forward for the final round, it was finally a good news when one of our HR student got placed with Mercer.
Finally after few rounds of Mercer, I could attend Anil sir's class which was great learning about Proposal writing and drawing Baseline Logic sheet to define the current situation with problems and benefits. When the consulting skills class resumed after Mercer interview, there were few surprises waiting for some of the students. The surprise turned out to be Mckinsey interview during the class itself on a live project, that too on Finance (a nightmare for many students). I managed to answer most of the questions and when everyone thought that the interview process was over, there was one more surprise waiting for us upstairs: Group interview for Mckinsey. Overall, the learning out of the day were immense and it could be undoubtedly named as Consulting Day.
