Mercer would surely be the most spoken word in the campus on
3rd. Rightly so, because everyone had geared up for the big
interview. The Mercer folks gave us three questions for the first round. Simple
as they seemed, but only when it came to enunciating them in a structure did we
know why were we given those questions. My interview was conducted by Muninder
Singh. After the one-on-one interview we were asked to sit in groups for a team
workshop. It reminded us of the innumerous survival series that are telecasted
on channels like NGC. Students had wonderful ideas; some creative enough to make
the producers of those survival series think hard enough.
In the second half, Mckinsey shortlisting process was
conducted for the remaining candidates. It was one of the most apt exercises
for revising one’s finance concept. What made it more interesting was that the
project discussed was the extension of our own school. How often do we get a
chance to work on a live project, that too for something that we already are a
part of? In a nut-shell, it was a fun filled day with a hell lot of learning.
